Everyone talks about “going green” – in homes and on the job. Recycling is a wonderful habit, however, but creating a healthy and environmentally friendly urban area takes dedication and hard work. Every ear the United States Green Building Council holds the world’s largest green dedicated convention in a city that demonstrates the best green living. The expo showcases the latest in environmentally supportive buildings and technology, bringing together industry experts from all over the world.. Greenbuild, as the convention is known, is a terrific opportunity for experts to encourage their peers to improve their city’s quality of life using environmentally safe products and techniques.
Greenbuild 2010 takes place on November 17-19 in Chicago. Chicago was one of the first U.S. cities to adopt LEED for public housing and was Greenbuild’s host city in 2007. LEED certification means that the building meets specific standards on energy efficiency, uses less water more efficiently, and has a lowered CO2 emission rate. These standards must be verified by a third party. The LEED system is accepted internationally, giving builders and owners a framework to create and maintain safer and greener public and private buildings.
With new minimal standards for venders now in effect, Greenbuild 2010 is going to be more exciting than ever.
